Estudió en la Universidad de Guadalajara en México la carrera de Lic. Cultura Física y Deportes. Mi nombre es Adrián Pelayo, mejor conocido en la ORII como #AcaShore jajaja. Hice un semestre de movilidad académica en la Universidad del Atlántico, el cual me ayudó a crecer en distintos ámbitos de mi vida, tanto académica como personalmente.

Aprendí muchas cosas entre las que más me gustaron fue la buena convivencia con chicos de distintos países con culturas distintas a la mía, lo cual me enriqueció bastante. Debo de felicitar, por su proyecto de acompañamiento a los estudiantes de intercambio "Buddy Program", a la ORII y a sus directores Giancarlo, Mateo y Mauricio , porque es un programa genial que te permite tener una cercanía mayor con la cuidad, con la cultura Barranquillera y con la gente del lugar.

La UA es una institución con renombre en la región Caribe de Colombia y la posiciona como una de las Universidades líderes en dicha región. Los profesores con los que curse materias fueron buenos y sin duda los compañeros de clase me recibieron de la mejor manera. La gente en Barranquilla es muy alegre y no cabe duda que la rumba allí es genial. La música, el baile y la compañía crean un ambiente muy ameno que se disfruta bastante. Gracias Universidad del Atlántico, gracias Barranquilla, gracias Colombia.

Ich bin den Kolumbianern sehr dankbar dafür, mir mehr Einblick in ihre lateinamerikanische Kultur mit ihren schönen, spannenden und fassettenreichen Seiten zu geben. Ich fand es toll, eine etwas längere Zeit in Barranquilla zu verbringen, um die mir bis dahin fremde karibische Kultur, Sitten und Bräuche, wie auch andere Weltansichten kennenlernen zu dürfen.

Durch meine praktischen Erfahrungen als Lehrerin und die schönen Begegnungen mit Professoren und Komilitonen an der Universität Atlántico freut es mich heute, in das letzte Studiensemester zurück zu blicken. Als deutsche Studentin ist es nicht immer einfach gewesen, die kulturellen Gewohnheiten der Kolumbianer zu verstehen. Doch fällt es einem durch die lockere Art, ihre Wärme und freundschaftliche Art schnell leicht, sich an ihren Lebensart anzupassen, vieles mit Freude zu tolerieren, mit den Menschen in Kontakt zu treten. Ich hatte Spaß daran, mit Menschen aus anderen Lebenswelten meine Freizeit zu verbingen. Auch waren Universität und Kurse mit eigenen Strategien und “karibischem Flair“ spannend mitzuerleben. In meinen Augen ist es zwar nicht der ideale Ort zum studieren, doch tatsächlich ein passender Ort, um schöne, unvergessliche Abenteuer zu erleben.

Ein Land, in dem es unmöglich ist, nicht mit Musik, Tanz und Feste in Berührung zu kommen! Immer wieder gibt es Feiereien und Projekte in der Universität. Immer wieder hört man karibische bis lateinamerikanische Tanzmusik auf den Straßen der gesamten Stadt – eine Atmosphäre die ich sonst noch nie erlebt habe, die sehr erfreuend und lebendig ist, und die man zurück im Heimatland ganz klar vermisst! Full bacano!

Santa Marta / Rodadero

A couple days later we had taken the people to check out our cathedral which is in front of 'Plaza de la Paz' (Peace Square) and went to grab some drinks, here is where we met 2 more people, Natalie from England and Moritz from Germany we had some pizza as we planned a trip to Santa Marta and El Rodadero for the upcoming weekend, since classes for some of us were about to start and we wanted 'beach energy' for the semester.

RODADERO

So here we were at El Rodadero, enjoying the beach, the incredible view and the music everywhere because Santa Marta was having 'Las fiestas del Mar' during the weekend and we were there to live it. Most of the foreign students were expecting to see if what they had heard about the beauty of the beaches was true. When we arrived the apartment we all were delighted with the amazing view we had on the 13th floor at the Hotel.

Although we had El Rodadero beach right in front of us, we decided to go a different beach which is a couple minutes away on boat. Playa Blanca (White Beach), in which we spent most of the day on the beach having a good time and learning the technique for traditional Catalonian ‘Castellers’ that Xevi taught us, which consists on human buildings in forms of castles, he explained us the types of Castells and how they’re made, and it was really fun doing it.

Although some of us didn’t master the technique, the ladies did climb onto our backs and succeeded, to what Xevi said ‘Ahora sois Catalanes!’ (Now you are Catalans!) As sign of what we did, totally worth the effort.

We were getting out of the beach getting back to El Rodadero, in order to go to ‘Las Fiestas Del Mar’ we decided get some drinks and eat a bit back at the apartment before we left!

So we passed by a ‘Punto Frio’ to buy some beers then an Olimpica for some food and after a while, guess what!? –That’s right; we warmed up for the upcoming party!

But first we ate some more food, and we left for the party.

Finally, we shared too many experiences, everyone enjoyed the party. Concluding that Santa Marta is an awesome place to be connected with nature and partying as well, on our last day we just went to the beach for a while, after that, we just picked our things up and left this wonderful city.
